Maxi Units are larger than the standard, mini storage units. Sizes range from 12x20-12x60. These units are 2ft wider than the common 10ft wide units, which allows for more storage space as well as the 12x60s that are 20ft longer than the largest available mini size, allowing space for another vehicle or even larger equipment.
All leases are done on a month-to-month basis, we do not have longer- term contracts.
All payments are due on the 1st of every month, regardless of the date commencing. We prorate first months rent upon sign-up but do not prorate the last month.
We manage all our facilities off-site; so, our main office is located in downtown Oconomowoc at 156 E. Wisconsin Ave. Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
You are able to move in right away! Once the agreement is completed, and first month’s rent is paid, you are able to stop by our main office during operating hours and pick-up your key(s). Move-in can begin right after!
We provide disk style locks to all of our tenants at time of initially renting, at no additional cost which comes with keys. We do not allow tenants to use their own locks per our policy - unless approved by management beforehand.
Please note that some units may have alternative locking mechanisms, on a rare occasion that does not require a disk style lock. In this case, it is an internal lock and only one key is provided.
If you happen to lose your keys while using one of our facilities, you are subject to a $50.00 lock cutting fee which would allow us to cut the existing lock off your unit and replace the lock/keys.
No, we don't have any electrical hook-ups inside the units at any of our sites.
For payments we offer a few different options:
- Mailing in checks to our main office
- Dropping off check payments at our main office
- Setting up an online account via our website to pay online as a one-time charge or auto- pay
- Setting up auto-pay through the office to be ran on the 1st of the month
If you have follow-up questions on any of these options, please reach out to one of our storage specialists.
No, none of our facilitates offer a dumpster or trash service with rental at this time. So, please do not leave any trash on the edge of the facility or outside your unit.
Yes, we offer them at Commerce Storage & Ski Slide Storage. Some of these units are interior access only through a human sized door and hallway - while others are direct access. Climate controlled units are typically used to protect belongings from damage caused by heat or very cold temperatures. Items stored in climate-controlled units are usually photographs, antiques, clothing, leather furniture, vehicles, and instruments. Or, if that is just what you prefer.
Climate controlled means that the unit is a more controlled environment in both temperature and humidity. Non-climate controlled units are like storing items in an un-heated garage, the temperature and humidity will fluctuate with the outside weather.
That would depend on what you are looking to store! If you are looking to store something that requires a certain width door, please be sure to measure it and mention it to the team member, so we are aware of your requirements.
Different facilities have different door sizes, but please note that most of the times - the door width will be one foot less or more (can vary) than the unit itself based on structural requirements. For example, if its a 10 foot wide unit on the inside then the door width would be 9 or 8 feet wide.
We want to make sure you get the unit that meets your storage needs, so please tell us if you are looking for a certain door size so we can help select the unit that best fits your needs!
